Respected US Army Aviation and Special Operations leader to join Buffalo-based startup

Buffalo, New York – June 4, 2021 – Sentient Science is pleased to announce the appointment of LTG (Ret.) Kevin Mangum to the Board of Directors, effective 07 June 2021. Kevin joins Sentient following his departure from Lockheed Martin, where he served as the Vice President of Business Development for Army Programs, Rotary and Mission Systems.

“I look forward to working with the Sentient Science team to deliver their game changing technology and capability, allowing aerospace and defense users to operate at best value,” says LTG Mangum.

LTG (Ret.) Mangum is a former Army Aviator and 35-year veteran who has served his country in a variety of critical roles in both the conventional and special operations aviation community – spending most of his career in the US military’s most elite helicopter unit, the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR). He commanded units at all levels throughout an exceptionally distinguished career, to include the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence and as the inaugural commanding general for the US Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASOAC). Kevin is a Master Army Aviator with over 3,000 helicopter flight hours and is a member of the U.S. Army Aviation Hall of Fame. Most importantly, he is a proud father and loving husband.

“We are excited that LTG Mangum is joining our Board of Directors. Kevin is a well-respected leader in both Army Aviation and Special Operations, and he brings an important perspective that will allow Sentient to really focus on serving the needs of the military rotorcraft community”, says Sentient Science CEO Stéphane Attal. “He will be an important voice in our discussions on how to best position the company to support the Future Fleet.”
