Our Sentient Science team will be at the AWEA Wind Project O&M and Safety Conference Feb. 8-10 in San Diego, CA. The conference will bring together the wind industry’s leading owners, operators, turbine manufacturers and material suppliers to focus on the best strategies for managing their wind project assets.
As these business leaders debate how to analyze operations and maintenance challenges that plague the industry, Sentient Science’s Vice President of Sales Elias Tavarez will lead a discussion on how to effectively use their existing data to make better business decisions and provide solutions for these obstacles.
Our software technology, DigitalClone, provides materials science-based computational testing of rotating mechanical systems and its components. The software tests thousands of data points and calculates the points in time when critical components and systems will fail over a 20+ year lifespan.
Owners and operators can use this prognostic data to look at three levels of visibility that will aid in lowering their O&M costs. Short-term visibility gives a month by month forecast into the immediate health of an asset’s components. This assists the operations and supply chain managers organize their watch lists to plan up-tower maintenance schedules and rank their fleet-wide assets from worst to best. The mid-term visibility forecasts the health of the assets 1-3 years out. Asset managers, remanufacturing managers and engineering managers want this information to decide which preventative maintenance techniques they want to use to extend the life of their assets. It also gives foresight into the failure rates for their gearboxes and components. The long-term visibility provides data from 3 years to 20+ years. We’ll provide serial defect and failure rates over the lifespan of the gearboxes used. Financial and risk managers can use this information to leverage better warranty and insurance rates.
The panel discussion will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 in the Carousel Room at the AWEA conference. If you aren’t attending the San Diego event, we’ll be hosting a webinar on these topics at 10 a.m. EST Wednesday, Feb. 17. Sign up today.
